Transition is a series of photogravure prints, photographs and drawings of stills from a video made on the Shinkansen line in Tokyo
The work has been exhibited at Left Bank Gallery where I did residency as part of SOUND SCOTLAND and the smaller drawings are at Rhue Art currently.

The video footage was taken on the Yamanote line that circles Tokyo and is one it's the busiest commuter services. It records fleeting moments of the commuter day. It records fleeting moments of the commuter day. These were subsequently fragmented in to individual frames to reveal images that the brain doesn't register. Working with the individual frames I have tried to capture snapshots of an almost non existent time on the photogravure plate.
